About Me: I graduated from Sylmar High School and played on the volleyball team, participated in various clubs, and graduated as a Valedictorian. During high school, I was very involved with volunteering in the community, and this is where my passion for helping people developed. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Child Development from CSUN, my Master's degree in Educational Counseling and PPS Credential from the University of La Verne, and the Child Welfare and Attendance Authorization from CSU Dominguez Hills. I am currently the staff advisor for Girls Build LA & DIY Girls at Sylmar Charter High School, two organizations that focus on student empowerment. I've been working as the A-G Diploma Program Counselor since 2016 and work for Sylmar Charter High School, Evergreen High School, and Sylmar Biotech Health & Engineering Magnet.
Educational Philosophy: As a high school counselor, my educational philosophy is centered around the holistic development and success of each student. I believe in a student-centered approach that recognizes the uniqueness of every individual and aims to provide a supportive and inclusive environment where they can thrive academically, emotionally, and socially. I strive to empower students by fostering their self-awareness, self-confidence, and self-advocacy skills. I aim to help students discover their passion, set meaningful goals, and develop the resilience needed to overcome challenges by providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and guidance. My approach to counseling involved personalized guidance that takes into account the diverse backgrounds, abilities, interests, and aspirations of each student. I aim to promote positive mental health and well-being by fostering resilience, coping skills, and emotional intelligence. I am committed to helping students explore and navigate their college and career pathways. I am dedicated to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within the school community.
